Documenting the pregnancy, delivery, and raising of our Spring 2012 litter of Irish Wolfhound puppies. CAN Ch Aotearoa Suro Whakaheke X CAN Ch Freehold Oldline Renee
I figured today was a good day to get some more video. It's amazing how much more active the puppies are getting, and how much stronger on their feet. Everyone is standing and attempting to walk now, though they still need lots of practice. I also see at least some eye on everyone, though still not enough to really see on photos. Soon though. All but the two girls are over 3 lb, and gaining steadily. It won't be too long before they can start experimenting with "real" food. Renee is still being a super mother, though she's happy to take breaks from the rather pushy and rowdy crew. They are far from delicate at this stage, voracious eaters who will let nothing get in their way.
In these videos Renee has just come in from one of her breaks. Most of the puppies are still pretty full from earlier, so they go on in shifts.
Here three puppies (Orange, Green, Purple) notice that Renee's back and head over her way
to get a head start on eating.
Two more puppies (Blue and Black) come over to eat.
