Farewell Orange and Green!

The day has come for our first puppies to leave the nest.  While it is a sad day, in many ways it is also a happy one.  Both Green and Orange are now on their ways to their new homes, where they will begin the rest of the adventure we call life.

Orange settled into the back of Barbara's car, ready to go.

Barbara Daley came by early this afternoon to meet all the puppies and make her choice.  She was very pleased with the overall quality of the litter, and had a hard time picking between Orange and Brown.  With her help we assessed Red and Purple, and have decided that Purple is the best girl for us to choose as a keeper.

So now we have three boys and two girls left on the farm.  Purple gets to stay, so Red will still be looking for the perfect home.  Blue is spoken for and will be picked up in a few weeks after spending a bit more time home with his littermates.  Either Brown or Black will be meeting his new person next weekend and making the trip to Quebec where he will live.

It is sad to say goodbye to everyone, but we can't be anything but pleased with how this litter has turned out.  I will continue to post updates of the remaining puppies, and if their new owners send me updates I will share them here for everyone to enjoy.

Oh, and for your entertainment, introducing the PuppyMobile!  This elegant form of transportation is perfect for moving seven curious and independent puppies from their Indoor Puppy Palace to the PlayYard.  The photo was taken on one of their last PuppyMobile rides as a full litter.  Now with five there will be more room (though they will also soon be learning to walk on a leash to get to the yard).
